Task 1 & Task 2 bundle: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12900969
These resources are planned to support students with a walking, talking mock of the Component 1 PSA. This is not used with students who are sitting the PSA as you obviously cannot guide students through these tasks. Each bullet point of the task is explained and suggestions given with regards to which content to include.
Students are talked through how to attempt each task, and then given the directed time to complete each task.
This Walking Talking Mock is for the January 2024 release.
Students given their feedback on a highlighted grid, which allows them to see where they would have scored. This can be found here- free download, please review: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12921061

Level 1/2 Technical Award in Child Development and Care in the Early Years
New for teaching in September 2022 (NCFE/CACHE Childcare)
Content Area 9 only required one lesson on the planning cycle. I have therefore included a complete run through of the sample NEA material. Included is:
9.1 Lesson on Planning Cycle
9.2 Overview of the NEA-
powerpoint that guides students through each task, including revision content of the key information- I am using this mock as a way to prepare them for the NEA, so I will be supporting them in how to tackle the tasks. I am checking their skills/knowledge.
17 page student booklet of the sample NEA with teacher prompts and space to plan each task
Teacher feedback/highlighting sheet- providing you with the mark scheme.
Excel spreadsheet tracker, ready for you to use to track student grades.
Please review if you purchase as this has taken a lot of planning :D

Content Area 8: The importance of observations in an early years setting
Lesson 1- how observations support development
BTEC National Unit 1 Level 3
Lesson 1: This lesson looks at family dysfunction. How this can impact on a child. The lesson also looks at divorce and the Robertson/Bowlby study into child separation, it also covers parenting styles. The lesson finishes with a 10 mark question (that I added to Microsoft Teams). It ended up being a double lesson and taking me around 2 hours to complete due to the amount of discussions we had in the online lesson- also suitable for face to face delivery!
Lesson 2: Looks at Sibling Rivalry and mainly focused on an episode of Super Nanny. Students then complete some independent research into bullying and create an information leaflet.
Lesson 3: This looks at culture, religion and belief. Students do some research into the main religions and how their beliefs impact their diet and medical interventions. There are some video clips to aid discussion and look at cervical screening in BAME women. Students then complete 2 4 mark questions. I again added this onto Teams as an assignment, but within a classroom setting I would ask them to pick the yellow or green tasks for differentiated learning.
